End of ESG?
Not sure how I feel about the attempts to institutionalize the purpose of companies.
Super happy with the update to the ESG page.

October Updates
We’re back after some rethinking. Added the eco rent and eco pension products. Design wise, cobalt blue is back in the picture. Super happy with how everything looks. We need to have reporting, documentation, press room sections. The next step will be to design the backend. It’s brilliant. Exciting.

Financial engineering
Yesterday we started working on the Green Investment Bank Initiative. We hope that this initiative will ripple throughout the industry and will be adopted elsewhere before we launch the first fund.
Our color scheme is back to earthy colors of sand, clay, straw — the building components of environmentally sustainable homes.

Thought of the day
It’s all about making things more simple. If things look overly complex — there’s a reason. Trust your gut feeling. Deliver value.
I am very happy with the latest design changes. It’s bright, it’s full of energy. You look at this colour and you want to go and do things.

Design changes
The website is now a one pager. It’s much more clean and simple now. We also added a Pinterest board to illustrate our design thinking.

We hear you
We have reached out to Lithuanians. It seems that most people see themselves living in an eco village vs. an eco farm. Many pointed out that they would like plenty of space between homes. Most people want a home of 80 sq.m.
Our vision is that to save on the cost of construction people will contribute to the creation and establishment of their eco communities. There will be plenty of work — from sourcing raw materials, to carpentry, to landscaping. It’s not rocket science. Everyone will have a chance to contribute.
Most importantly, we hear you and can see more clearly how we can better serve the eco community movement.

We believe in diversity and choice
Eco communities are very diverse. They all embrace sharing and spending time together to a varying degree. Some embrace spirituality and healing. Others are great at permaculture or eco construction. Personal self-expression is important to most communities. We believe that every person can choose a right community for themselves.
We also hope that there won’t be communities overtaken by power play & elitism. If that happens, we are quite confident that people will be able to recognize it and move on.
Here at Nabo we would like to make it easier for people to get information about communities and to smoothen the application process for new members, so that the right people can find the right communities for themselves. Transparency is the key.
One other aspect that would benefit from shedding more light on would be the economics of the communities: prices, fees, ownership, any debts. We will work on that in the future.

The beginning
It’s exciting to launch this blog section and the whole website. Right now I am watching this episode of cob home building which kind of summarizes a lot what Nabo is about. It’s about financial freedom from mortgages, it’s about having more time for your family, it’s about connection with nature and about sustainable construction. Enjoy it.
